So – you’ve made your second guess.
Are you any more confident than yesterday?
Or do you think Inspector MacKauly still has more to discover…
Are you any more confident than yesterday?
Or do you think Inspector MacKauly still has more to discover…
Today’s mini puzzler is below. Keep a note of the answers to each puzzle, because on the last day you will be able to use all the answers to these puzzles to open a safe, where you’ll find a secret discount code you can use against a ticket for the virtual event (assuming you don’t win one!) or against another game of your choice.

Penelope Parkes explained to inspector MacKauly that because Jim Smedley only worked part time during the day he was never included on the rota. They all just knew he worked week days Monday to Friday.
She said Kate Boswell spent Valentines day with her beau from Latimer House, and Mary Kershaw agreed to pull a very long shift this month working a straight 16 hours so that Mrs Parkes could visit her sister just outside Oxford.
Mrs Parkes said created a new rota each month and told the inspector that each member of staff had a specific colour code on the rota to make it easy to work out who was in when.
She apologised that she didn’t include people’s names on the rota any more, but the inspector said it didn’t matter. He could work out who was who.
Can you work out what colour Fred is?

If you’re enjoying the wartime vibe – and like the evolving mystery, have you considered joining Cosykiller?
2021 saw us launch a brand new story “The Hidden Listener” based on activities at Latimer House during World War 2. Inspector MacKauly makes a brief appearance in that story.
We became heavily invested in the story here in the office, and it’s one of the girls favourites so far.
Cosykiller is our solo sleuthing experience which can be played entirely by yourself, or shared with close friends or family.
Included in the story are a variety of puzzles which provide additional hints. It’s written by a published crime writer, and has been enormously popular.
Why not host your own murder mystery event?
