A Midsummer Night’s Scream
June 21st 1815 sees Austin House open to the village for a celebration unlike any other that has gone before. Emma Bleakwood, the only daughter of Colonel John Bleakwood, has come of age.
Keen to provide his darling Emma with a twenty-first birthday to remember, Colonel Bleakwood has invited the entire village to dine at his home. However, the evening does not go to plan. As the celebration commences the Bleakwood’s butler is found dead in the library.
With the butler dead, the question everyone must answer is: who did it?
How it works:
If you’re looking for a murder mystery evening which supplies entertaining sleuthing while you dine, then our Dinner Theatre style murder mystery evenings are just what you are looking for.
Each mystery is designed to be run in one room within a hotel/restaurant setting during a three course meal.
There are five suspects (our cast). One murder occurs before the event (the discovery of the body usually begins the evening) and one murder occurs mid-way through the evening.
These mysteries are written as interactive dinner theatre with a series of scripts as well as interactive questioning by the guests. They are fun, melodramatic and engrossing.
Sadly they are usually not usually appropriate for young children due to the number of deaths involved!
This Event is Rated:
Teen
Characters in the game:
John Bleakwood – Head of the family
Wealthy, loud, brash and intimidating, Mr Bleakwood may be hosting a birthday party, but he certainly isn’t enjoying himself.
Emma Bleakwood – Daughter of John
Beautiful, high-spirited, intellectual, and ‘slightly’ spoiled, Emma has been mistress of the house since her mother died.
Will Larcey – Eligible son of a local mill owner
Handsome, intelligent, gallant if a little reticent and very, very charming, Will Larcey is the most eligible bachelor in the district.
Eleanor Dashing – Emma’s friend
Beautiful, clever and elegant, Eleanor may be quiet but she has the very best of manners.
Nicolas Bottomley – Family Solicitor
Young and handsome in a bookish sort of way, Nicolas Bottomley is a hard working solicitor visiting from the big city.
